想要进入美国前20名大学的申学党们！

哈佛、斯坦福、耶鲁、布朗等多所顶尖大学已经宣布今年本科申请的补充文书题目将会更改。

缘由主要是六月底平权法案宣判后，大学们已经不能在招生时考虑学生的种族因素。因此，在今年的申请中，许多高校都改变了文书题目，以满足最高法院的判决要求。

01

哈佛大学

近日，哈佛公布了其最新的补充文书题目，形式大改，题目开篇就写道：

“Harvard has long recognized the importance of enrolling a diverse student body.”

告诉大家哈佛早已认识到招生多元化的重要性。

与去年自定义主题进行写作不同，2023-2024 年哈佛大学要求申请者回答五个简单题，每个不超过 200 字，最多 1000 字。

学校的补充文书题目取消了过去一直在招生中沿用的可选的Optional补充文书模式，取而代之的是5篇必答的Required 200字文书。

2. Briefly describe an intellectual experience that was important to you. (200 words)

3. Briefly describe any of your extracurricular activities, employment experience, travel, or family responsibilities that have shaped who you are. (200 words)

4. How do you hope to use your Harvard education in the future? (200 words)

5. Top 3 things your roommates might like to know about you. (200 words)

此次补充文书的变化引起了很多人的讨论，哈佛大学在校报上专门发布了一篇名为《Harvard Overhauls College Application in Wake of Affirmative Action Decision》的文章，指出哈佛官方针对最高法院可接受做法的配合及调整，即弱化种族因素，强调个人经历。

斯坦福大学

斯坦福大学公布了2023-2024年附加文书题目。所有申请者都必须完成3道斯坦福特有的短文Short Essays(每篇文章100至250字)，其中第3道是今年的新题目，简答题Short Questions第五题也发生了变化。

1. The Stanford community is deeply curious and driven to learn in and out of the classroom. Reflect on an idea or experience that makes you genuinely excited about learning. (100 to 250 words)

斯坦福大学的学生群体非常好奇，他们渴望在课堂内外学习。反思一个让你对学习真正感到兴奋的想法或经历。

2. Virtually all of Stanford's undergraduates live on campus. Write a note to your future roommate that reveals something about you or that will help your roommate – and us – know you better.

斯坦福大学还要求申请者完成几个简短的回答Short Questions（最多50字）：

What is the most significant challenge that society faces today?

How did you spend your last two summers?

What historical moment or event do you wish you could have witnessed?

Brieflyelaborate on one of your extracurricular activities, a job you hold, or responsibilities you have for your family.List five things that are important to you.

布朗大学

今年布朗大学新增了一道200-250字的文书：

Students entering Brown often find that making their home on College Hill naturally invites reflection on where they came from. Share how an aspect of your growing up has inspired or challenged you, and what unique contributions this might allow you to make to the Brown community.

进入布朗大学的学生通常会发现，在学院山上安家会自然而然地引起他们对自己出身的反思。请分享你成长过程中的某个方面是如何激励或挑战你的，以及这可能会让你对布朗社区做出哪些独特的贡献。

其他新增或者调整文书的学校还包括：加州理工学院、康奈尔大学、哥伦比亚大学、约翰斯霍普金斯大学、弗吉尼亚大学、布兰迪斯大学、巴布森学院....

由此可见并不是仅仅藤校文书题目变更了！其他美国高校也纷纷做了变动！

耶鲁大学

耶鲁大学的补充文书题目分为Short Answer Questions简答题和Essays必答文书两部分。Short Answer Questions是耶鲁大学文书的重要组成部分，短小精悍。而必答文书题目则会根据申请人选择的申请平台而略有不同。

概括来说，耶鲁大学的补充文书类型是：Why, Short Answer, Community, Oddball.

1、简答题

提交Coalition Application，Common Application或QuestBridge Application 的申请人需要回答以下简答题。

Students at Yale have time to explore their academic interests before committing to one or more major fields of study. Many students either modify their original academic direction or change their minds entirely. As of this moment, what academic areas seem to fit your interests or goals most comfortably? Please indicate up to three from the list provided.

Tell us about a topic or idea that excites you and is related to one or more academic areas you selected above. Why are you drawn to it? (200 words or fewer)

What is it about Yale that has led you to apply? (125 words or fewer)

Coalition Application或Common Application平台申请人还需要回答以下简答题：

What inspires you?(200 characters or fewer)

If you could teach any college course, write a book, or create an original piece of art of any kind, what would it be?(200 characters or fewer)

Other than a family member, who is someone who has had a significant influence on you? What has been the impact of their influence? (200 characters or fewer)

What is something about you that is not included anywhere else in your application?(200 characters or fewer)

2、必答文书题

接下来是文书部分，提交Coalition Application或Common Application的申请人需要回答以下问题之一。

1. Reflect on a time you discussed an issue important to you with someone holding an opposing view. Why did you find the experience meaningful?(400 words or fewer)

2. Reflect on your membership in a community to which you feel connected. Why is this community meaningful to you? You may define community however you like.(400 words or fewer)

3. Reflect on an element of your personal experience that you feel will enrich your college. How has it shaped you?(400 words or fewer)

达特茅斯学院

达特茅斯学院要求申请人对以下三个附加文书题目进行简短的回答。概括来说，达特茅斯学院的补充文书类型是：Why, Oddball, Community.

1 所有申请人均须撰写，全文不超过100个单词：

Dartmouth celebrates the ways in which its profound sense of place informs its profound sense of purpose. As you seek admission to Dartmouth's Class of 2028, what aspects of the College's academic program, community, and/or campus environment attract your interest? In short, why Dartmouth?

2. 所有申请人都需要撰写。请选择以下文书题目之一并用200-250个单词回答：

A. There is a Quaker saying: Let your life speak. Describe the environment in which you were raised and the impact it has had on the person you are today.

B. "Be yourself," Oscar Wilde advised. "Everyone else is taken." Introduce yourself.

As noted in the College's mission statement, "Dartmouth educates the most promising students and prepares them for a lifetime of learning and of responsible leadership…" Promise and potential are important aspects of the assessment of any college application, but they can be elusive qualities to capture.
